2022 is Going to be a SLAM DUNK!

“Everybody get up, it’s time to SLAM now,” was the motto of this year’s first Slam Dunk event! The Villages of Benning set the tone for the year 2022 and it is going to be a Slam Dunk.

On Friday, January 14th, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM The Villages hosted a sports-themed event to celebrate the New Year at the Indianhead Community Management office. There were several activities for residents to participate in, concessions to snack on, and goodie bags to take home and keep the party going.

Upon arrival, residents had the opportunity to grab a snack from the concession stand which offered Nachos & Cheese, candy bars, Powerade, popcorn, and more. The movie Space Jam 2 was playing for residents to view while they enjoyed their snacks. Towards the back of the event room were Slam Dunk themed goodie bags for everyone in attendance. The Villages handed out basketball hoops with basketballs that can hang on your window stating “2022 is going to be a Slam Dunk!” on the backboard. 

The Fort Benning organization USO joined the party and supported the event with goodie bags as well. Each resident received a basketball-themed gift and sweet treats from the USO team. 

Once your bellies were full and you grabbed your goodie bags, you were invited to participate in some inflatable activities outside. Residents had the opportunity to play kickball darts on a giant velcro dart board, try their hand at shooting hoops, or play one of many sports games including basketball, soccer, baseball, and football, offered with the “World of Sports” inflatable. 

The event was a great success and a fantastic way to begin the New Year. 2022 truly is going to be a Slam Dunk!
